What are the differences between OST and PST?

If you are a Microsoft Outlook user, you will know OST and PST Files. OST and PST are both Outlook data storage files. OST file data stores data for offline use while PST stores data on the client disk. The OST file can be converted to a PST file format and is required as an alternative. Let’s logically know it all:

First of all, what is Outlook?

Differences b / w Outlook OST and PST file:

OST is an offline folder created by M.S. Outlook and Server to store copies of offline data, and PST is not created by Outlook or Exchange Server. Users create PST to store emails, contacts and calendar entries etc. PST files are backup friendly, as you can place them anywhere, or you can easily transfer from one application to another.

You can work in the OST file even if there is no connection to the Exchange Server (when you are offline), and when the connection is established, it is automatically synced with the exchange server post server, while PST does not allow you to do this.

OST files only support Microsoft Exchange Server, while PST files also support other services.
